LOCATION: Chicago Loop

POSITION TITLE: Raiser’s Edge Database Manager

SALARY: $15 - $17/hour, $45,000 - $50,000 in a permanent capacity. Both are commensurate with experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Position holds key responsibilities in constituent knowledge management. Responsible for database administration of Raisers’ Edge and ResearchPoint. Reports to the Senior Director of Development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Knowledge Management responsibilities:

o Oversees and manages the use of data to enhance fundraising activities: strategically organizes, analyzes and exports data to support and augment development activities through donor profiles, donor segmentation, moves management, financial and other reports and analysis.

o Develops systems to enrich the content, functionality and efficiency of constituent database.

o Creates policies and procedures related to knowledge management.

o Produces system reports, including progress toward goals and analysis of activities.

o Produces standard and custom reports (weekly, monthly, on demand) – works with staff to identify reporting needs and solutions.

Raisers’ Edge responsibilities:

o Produces donor listings for annual report and other projects.

o Pulls email and mailing lists for newsletters, invitations, annual report and special appeals.

o Reconciles Raiser’s Edge gift entry with Finance Department.

o Trains new users and provides ongoing technical support to existing users; updates supporting procedural documents and binders.

o Ensures proper security measures and settings.

o Conducts global changes and/or data imports to maintain data.

o Runs annual deceased updates and biannual address updates.

o Cleans existing records and out-dated configurations and settings.

ResearchPoint responsibilities:

o Identifies and researches new prospects.

o Analyzes wealth data to produce wealth reports.

o Trains new users and provide ongoing technical support to existing users; updates supporting procedural documents and binders.

o Ensures proper security measures and settings.

o Syncs ResearchPoint records with Raiser’s Edge records.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Works with Resource Development project leaders to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects, including events, communications, and volunteer program tracking.

• Attends appropriate events, programs and meetings in support of the organization.

• Attends required training sessions.

• Participates in regular supervision and staff meetings as required by the department.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years of development experience and/or donor database administration.

• Excellent Raisers’ Edge skills required.

• ResearchPoint experience preferred.

• NetCommunity experience preferred.

• Great Plains accounting system experience preferred.

• Detail-oriented.

• Understanding of all general areas of fund development.

• Respect and appreciation for and high comfort level with diverse cultural, ethnic and economic groups.

• Strong problem-solving, planning, training, communication and negotiation skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

• Ability to function independently with minimal oversight necessary.
