Do you know a veteran with a small business or someone tryig to launch or even think about launching a small business/ Then this stoy may appeal to them, so please pass it on. We all have a debt to share with those who have served our country gallantly.
OnFriday, June 29th I sat with an interesting young man, a Marine Corps veteran, at a SCORE Chicago workshop. His name is Henry and he left the corps after 7 years. He went on to gain a degree relating to business management at a local college. He also launched a business in Chicago serving property management companies.
Henry appearsto me to be diligent and goal oriented, since he took the time to chat with me on the nation's celebration this past July 4th. He told me he is always working!
Why was Henry at a workshop in downtown Chicago on a hot, rainy morning? He was using a scholarship he received through SCORE's Veterans Fast Launch Initiative. So let me tell you a little about SCORE and the program to aid “members of our military (active duty, reserves, and National Guard) and all veterans and their immediate family members with many unique special offers.”
